Langdon Hall Summer House Wedding

Elizabeth + Stephen

Really had an amazing day at Elizabeth + Stephen’s beautiful Langdon Hall wedding!

Not too many weddings where the bride gets upstaged but in this case I think even Elizabeth will allow it… these two had an adorable son who stole the spotlight without even trying!

Theirs was one of those COVID weddings where I think we were on our 2nd or 3rd postponement date by this point but I can say it was well worth the wait!

Langdon Hall has always been one of my favourite wedding venues in Ontario but I haven’t had a lot of experience with their new Firshade Room and Summer house but I can now see the appeal… I absolutely love the Summer House as a wedding venue… It combines rustic and modern and indoors and outdoors like nothing I’ve ever seen before!

I started the day at Elizabeth’s parent’s house and then it was off to Langdon Hall for a beautiful outdoor ceremony (no rain!). We followed that up with some timeless family portraits and as well as wedding party and couple photos around the grounds of Langdon Hall… even managed to get some nice golden hour pictures!

The reception was filled with some beautiful and touching speeches and some amazing food… Langdon Hall had a sweet onion puree soup that was to die for.

The evening was capped off with some lovely parent dances.

Their Favourite Wedding Photograph

Cindy + Enrico  -  Archeo, Toronto

archeo-wedding-toronto-001.jpg

Here is one from my ongoing series of Heirloom Photographs from Cindy + Enrico's fantastic wedding at Archeo in Toronto's historic Distillery District.

I really enjoy this project because it gives me some insight into the kind of wedding photographs my clients (and future clients) cherish and appreciate.

I love the wedding photograph that Cindy + Enrico chose for so many reasons... the connection between the two of them, the fact that it's not your 'typical' wedding picture and of course that it's from late into the night during their reception.  Right from day one I've always believed in photographing the entire wedding day, from getting ready to late into the night.

So here, in Cindy & Enrico's own words, is their favourite wedding photograph:

"It’s  important to us because it  symbolizes our soul connection which always comes when we are lost in anything creative together....like dancing. It’s especially beautiful because we were not aware of the camera ..."

Thank you so much Cindy & Enrico, I hope you still love this picture for years to come.

Heirloom Wedding Photograph

I have an ongoing series I call Heirloom Wedding Photographs where my couples choose the one image from their wedding that means the most to them.

Here is Emilie's pick...

99-sudbury-wedding-toronto

My grand-papa and I always had a strong bond. I spent many summers when I was young in Chicoutimi with him and my grand-maman. It meant so much to me that he made the trip for our wedding in October, especially knowing he didn’t like to leave the comfort of his home in recent years.

I still remember the emotion on his face from this moment, so happy and proud to see his eldest grand-daughter be married. I am so grateful Scott was there to capture it. What makes this picture even more special is that my grand-papa passed away almost 6 months to the day of our wedding. I will cherish this picture for the rest of my life and remember a man that brought so much joy and love to my life.
