Happy Anniversary!

Danni + Felipe

Can’t believe this wedding was 4 years ago, feels like yesterday!

Still one of my all time favourite weddings, it’s actually my current sample album.

Happy anniversary to these two (and their adorable daughter!).

This wedding was amazing.

Danni + Felipe met on the beaches of Australia and have been globetrotting ever since.   They currently live in British Columbia so it's always a bit of a worry when I haven't met a client before their wedding... needless to say this this wasn't problem.  Danni + Felipe, their family and their friends welcomed me with open arms and I felt like one of the gang!

The wedding started out at the fabulous Shangri-La Hotel in downtown Toronto with the guys and girls getting ready. Wendy Rorong did an amazing job with the makeup; giving all the girls a clean, natural look! We then headed over to Osgood Hall for an amazing first look and a few formal portraits of Danni + Felipe and their wedding party!

Over at the Fermenting Cellar the amazing wedding planner Alusha from A Lush Affair had put together a beautiful candle lit space for their wedding ceremony, which was partly in Spanish by Paula Da Nova in honour of Felipe's friends and family from Ecuador.  The flowers from the Coriander Girl looked great, especially the bouquet.

Some good speeches, some good food and some great dancing (Helped out by DJ Lexx) rounded out the rest of the night!

I'd like to give a huge thanks to wedding photographer Nick Driver from Artanis Collective who did an amazing job second shooting!

Toronto Fermenting Cellar Wedding

Meghan + Jeff

Meghan and Jeff had an amazing spring wedding at the Fermenting Cellar in Toronto's Distillery District.

Meghan, her sister and her mother spent the morning getting ready at One King West.  One King West has stunning suites that are the perfect place to spend the day.   I met up with Jeff and his best man at the Fermenting Cellar to photograph the finishing touches as they got ready.

Meghan and Jeff decided to have a first look which I always think is a great idea as it allows the bride and groom to spend time with their friends and family after the ceremony instead of running off to do pictures for an hour.

While we were doing some family pictures Meghan was dive-bombed by a bird.  Meghan HATES HATES HATES birds.   :)

Meghan + Jeff had a really beautiful candlelit ceremony in the Fermenting Cellar that was full of laughter and emotions followed by a cocktail hour with some amazing appetizers.

The Fermenting Cellar is one of my favourite wedding venues in all of Toronto... I love the dramatic uplighting, the industrial feel and the great layout.  I can't recomend it enough if you're looking for something a little different from your traditional wedding venue in Toronto.

Dinner was intermixed with some amazing speeches and toasts by Meghan + Jeff's family and friends.   They had a great kissing game where guests had to answer (impossibly hard) trivia questions about Meghan + Jeff's favourite TV couple.... seriously hard questions.

Once the cake was cut and the desert was served, it was time to hit the dance floor and Meghan + Jeff's wedding was an amazing fun party.

Toronto Wedding at the Jewel Event Centre

Sabrina + Zach

Sabrina + Zach's wedding at the Jewel Event Centre in Woodbridge was such an amazing day full of really memorable moments.

Zach and his two brothers started the day with my second photographer Nick at what has to be the coolest barber shop I've seen, the Cabin in Mississauga.  Strait razor shaves for everyone!

The girls spent the morning at Sabrina's salon and then headed over to her parents house where all her family had gathered the way Italian families always do at the brides house before a wedding to wish her well.

The Roman Catholic ceremony was held at St Dominic's Church in Mississauga.

Sabrina had a great aunt who's a Dominican nun who flew in from Italy for the wedding.  She even brought an official papal blessing that she read during the ceremony!

Once the ceremony was over, Sabrina + Zach spent the day riding around in an amazing 1949 Rolls Royce vintage car.  We all headed over to Adamson Estates on the waterfront for some relaxed family portraits on the lakefront.

The reception started off with one of those amazing Italian antipasto tables as Sabrina + Zach greeted their guests and then made their grand entrance with dinner and speeches to follow.

I always love seeing the little family traditions that pop up at weddings, In this case, it was a rousing karaoke version of Piano Man sung by.,. well, everyone.  :)

Once you shoot over 350 weddings you tend to think you've seen almost everything but at almost every wedding I see something new (one of the reasons I enjoy this job so much!).   Sabrina's parents were married 30 years ago and the same wedding band that played at their wedding also played at Sabrina's... Amazing.   They even called her parents out onto the dance floor and let them dance to the same song from 30 years ago.

After the cake cutting and the rest of the speeches the dance floor was opened up and Sabrina + Zach spent the rest of the night dancing the night away with 250 of their closest family and friends.

A big thanks to Nick from Artanis Collective for doing a great job second shooting this wedding.

Mackenzie from Kenzerama Productions did a beautiful job with the cinematography and was really a pleasure to work with all day.   Trust me, this isn't always the case with video crews.  :)

Langdon Hall Wedding

Alex + Bobby

This was such a great little intimate wedding at Langdon Hall!

Alex and Bobby were joined by some of their closest friends and family for the ceremony and then dinner in the Colonel Langdon room at Langdon Hall in Cambridge, Ontario.  As you would expect, the food at Langdon Hall is second to none.  The presentations are a work of art!

In a former life, Bobby was an assistant OHL coach so it wasn't really a surprise to anyone there that he had the staff at Langdon Hall set up a TV during dinner so they could all watch some World Cup of Hockey!   They even had a custom hockey stick made up with their wedding date and his team colours on it!

It was a beautiful autumn day and we got an amazing sunset for pictures.

I really love shooting these smaller, intimate weddings at Langdon Hall!

Toronto Wedding Photography

Morgan + Rosie

Morgan and Rosie had a fantastic wedding on what was probably one of the hottest days of the year!

I had Nick Driver helping me out again and he did another fantastic job hanging out Rosie and the boys in the (very) early morning!  :)

This wedding had two ceremonies, a Sikh wedding ceremony at the temple in the morning and a 'western' ceremony in the afternoon at their reception hall at the Jewel Event Centre in Vaughan.

I had never photographed a Sikh ceremony before so I loved seeing all the different traditions and customs.

Because of the heat, we kept the wedding portraits nice and short but headed out later that evening at sunset for some great golden hour portraits.

The reception was action packed with all the usual speeches and dances but had the added bonus of some amazing Bollywood dancers to entertain the guests as they ate dinner!
